World Wide Wangsters (wwwangsters.com) is a free hobby game made by Creativitijd, Peer, Belgium. Questions or requests: maarten@creativitijd.be.
What stays in your browser
Your nickname, the home address you pick, your progress (vault, cars, level) and your settings are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). We do not receive them unless you use cloud save (see below).
Address search and map
When you search an address, the text you type is sent to the free OpenStreetMap search services Nominatim and, as a fallback, Photon (komoot). The map itself is loaded from OpenFreeMap. These services receive your IP address like any website you visit.
Leaderboard
If you play, your nickname, your town (not your address), a random anonymous player ID and your scores are stored on our leaderboard (Supabase, EU). The same nickname, town and game stats (level, loot, robberies…) appear on your public player page, which only people with the link can find. You can hide yourself from both in ⚙️ Settings → Leaderboard.
Your e-mail and cloud save
To create a profile we ask your nickname and e-mail address. We store them in our database (Supabase, EU), together with your game progress, including the home location you picked. We use your e-mail to save your progress to your account and to send you a login link or code.
News: only if you tick “Send me news” (it is off by default) we may e-mail you news about World Wide Wangsters now and then. We keep the moment you gave that consent. You can switch it off at any time in ⚙️ Settings → News by e-mail, or with the unsubscribe link in every news e-mail. We never sell or share your e-mail.
Statistics
Only if you click “OK” in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count anonymous visits and game events (for example “first robbery”), without your address. You can switch this off at any time in ⚙️ Settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time by mailing maarten@creativitijd.be. Clearing your browser data removes everything stored locally. You can also file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
